Our first branch opened 1992 in NYC
Our History
Dated back to 1992, Summit Mortgage Bankers Inc. was established at 18 Bowery, a landmark building in New York City. At that time, most of Chinese residents in downtown Manhattan were first generation immigrants. They were hard workers but difficult to get mortgages from mainstreet banks due to language barrier and lack of credit history. Summit Mortgage Bankers Inc. hosted many first time homebuyer seminars and helped thousands of families obtained home mortgages .
Today, SMB has been a leading mortgage banker in Asian community. We have nearly 200 employees across the states. New York, New Jersey and California are our primary markets. We have been in mortgage banking business for over half of a century, yet we are still growing and we are growing fast.
